total honesty... i don't like most other people's babies (or really even kids) at all - no matter what age. I never really considered myself a baby person or a kid person - and was really quite ambivalent about being a parent (and quite worried that I would hate it, and then what?). i find i have a hard time talking with other kids.

However, Sidney is a dream child. He was an extraordinarily awesome newborn and I truly enjoyed every single minute with him. I still do.
I'm sure that this will doom me to a screaming, disagreeable second child...but for now - i will say that yes, i loved the newborn stage... and all the stages since then.
I also want to add that we have always just taken Sidney with us and carried on with our lives (including dining out, travel, hockey games and anything else) so I never felt like having a baby was an inconvenience. i think that probably helped us not get annoyed and frustrated.
