Haseo traced his hands over the
Sign carved into stone-- no, pixels, he corrected, shaking his head. He was at Morrigu Barrow Wall, one of the Lost Grounds "hidden" within The World. As his hands passed over the deep red marks that were violently etched into the wall, he heard the tell-tale sounds of someone warping in and he turned to face the Chaos Gate. Reimi appeared, looking as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
That's weird, she shouldn't be able to do that, Haseo thought to himself. Reimi walked over to him, looking curiously at the Sign. "What is this?" she asked, tracing over the symbol herself. Haseo shrugged and looked back up to it. "It's a Sign from someone I once knew very well..." he trailed off. "I was hoping it'd give us some clues about this new world we're in."
Reimi nodded, and turned to smile at him. She opened her mouth to say something else but then--
Haseo closed his eyes for the oncoming headache he knew was coming as someone new warped in. A giant man covered entirely in gold-plated armor emerged, this new... music suddenly coming on from through his M2D. What kind of guy has his own theme music anyways. This guy, apparently.
"WHO HAS DEFACED MY GLORIOUS MONUMENT?!" the man cried, striking a heroic pose. "Hey, Piros," Haseo responded dryly.
"Who is he?" Reimi whispered, but before Haseo could respond, Piros interjected loudly. "WAS IT YOU, TRI-EDGE???" he shouted, pointing at the Adept Rogue. "AND I SEE HE HAS A FRIEND THIS TIME. YOU ARE CLEVER, MR. TRI-EDGE. BUT THIS TIME I, PIROS THE 3RD, WON'T LET YOU GET AWAY!!!!"
Haseo sighed loudly. "Piros, it's me," he said, not bothering to hide the annoyance in his voice. The man he addressed as Piros then looked down at Haseo and Reimi and blinked. "Oh! I am sorry!" he exclaimed. "I didn't recognize you, he of fair eyes! Please forgive me!"
"You're forgiven," Haseo said, the aforementioned headache refusing to subside. "What are you doing here?"
"I have come to witness what horrible tragedies have fallen upon my beloved graphics!" Piros cried in anguish, though whether it was mock or not Haseo couldn't be sure. "And then when I saw you here, I flew into a rage! I thought, 'This must be the guy! This must be the guy defiling my wonderful work!' I'm sorry that I have mistaken you once again!"
Blinking once more, Piros stared at Haseo and Reimi. "And what are you doing here?"
Haseo put his hands on his hips and looked back up at the wall. "I'm kind of stuck, actually," he explained. "I was hoping this thing would have some answers for me. Well, the one who made it, actually."
Piros clapped his hands in delight. "If you need help, Haseo, just say the word! :D" he said, clearly excited at the prospect of aiding the Adept Rogue. He ran over to a pile of ruins and poised himself behind them. "If the culprit comes back I'll be sure to nab him!"
"You... you do that," Haseo sighed. "Come on, let's go." He grabbed Reimi's arm and started walking towards the Chaos Gate. If Piros wanted to help, then fine, but Haseo wasn't hanging around to watch. Anything to get away from that music, really.
[he jerks awake and sits up, expecting to be back in his room in Tokyo. when he realizes he's not, he crashes back down the bed with a sigh and covers his face with the pillow]
Heh... so much for this being just a dream world.
