I think my dad was misdiagnosed, that he didn't have schizophrenia but delusional disorder. Age of onset is part of why, for schizophrenia it's between 18-24 years of age. Also, it's not recognized in the DSM yet (but it is in the global version of the same), I totally have C-PTSD. Which is not too bad of a prognosis, actually. It's like a robbed sense of self in early life due to repeated trauma, but it can be gained in later life and I feel I have experienced that. Reactivity and emotional regulation are big issues, yeah, ding ding ding. Apart from when I'm PMSing though, those are better these days. Relationship issues also a feature, yeah, ding ding. We'll see how that goes. PTSD like features, like hyperviligence and high startle reflex, yeah.
