Grown up me is a naively hopeful cynic. The naive hope comes directly from eight year old me - he's still with me. He may not be at the helm, but he's certainly a contributing navigator.
I actually guage my life on how a child version of myself would feel about things, and I didn't even know about this movie. A few years ago, eight year old me would have wept. That's changed, though eight year old me might be more impressed by the fact that my hair is pink, I have two cats, and live in a re-purposed noodle factory than anything else.
That said, I'd love for the conversation to go both ways so I could tell my eight year old self about a few things to look out for in a few years. :)
