You could give it to me. Merino is magical.

Also, it makes good socks, if you spun it sock weight. See: Koigu.

I love Koigu; unfortunately, this is probably a little thicker than sock weight-- probably between worsted and sock, so... uh... fingering weight? I dunno. I haven't actually measured the WPI yet.

Plus, crocheted socks generally suck. I have a coworker who has promised to teach me to knit socks, but I don't have those skillz yet. I can knit a rectangle.

I think you should do something with the lover's/solomon's knot stitch. It makes a really cool, really quick shawl/scar/whatever. You can make the stitches small for a lacy effect, or really big and loopy.

And I know what you mean about the job thing. Lacy asked Melissa how much vet school costs the other day. Melissa looked it up and said "Well, let's see, at Va/Md, she'll be about $100,000 - $120,000 in the hole." Lacy said "Geez, why would anyone do that? No matter how big your paycheck is, that amount of loans is NOT worth it." Motivations, goals, and a higher calling. That's what I like to see in a nurse/vet/anyone I work with. Yup.

I like that stitch, but I can never seem to get it right, especially the first row. It's always too tight. Maybe when I come down to Baltimore this weekend, I'll bring some yarn and a hook and you can show me.

Lol-- I'm definately not in preservation for the money. More that second to last sentence you got there.

Additionally, if Lacy went to grad school and didn't have her parents pay for it, she would be similarly in the hole. It's not even just vet school.
