3rd sketch - [written - BACKDATED TO THE MORNING OF OCTOBER 21ST]

Oct 25, 2011 02:17

[For the most part, it's been pretty easy to pretend nothing happened. No one asks, and Jeb kept to himself for the days following it. Unfortunately, that doesn't really change the fact that he was physically assaulted by someone he doesn't even know about a month ago ( Read more... )

jeb stop hiding things, *nadoka, nightmares for the lose, *anise, *emil, *raine, it took him a month to ask wtf, mithos-inflicted trauma, *hikari, dreaming about mithos for the lose

Jeb-san? [they only met each other that one time, but that was enough to make her worried about him. Dreams about getting hurt... She's had a few, about Kaname...but she's never talked about it with anyone. It wasn't a problem that plagued her, necessarily; just one that pushed itself in every once in awhile.]

I don't have much experience with this, but maybe if you talked about it with someone you're really close to [.......ah, but maybe such a person doesn't exist in Luceti.] or wrote about it in a diary...

[Jeb thinks for a moment before replying to Hikari.]

I'm not sure I should talk about it to anyone. I don't want to burden them if they're having problems of their own. But writing about it in something other than this journal might help! That's a good idea!

Help with nightmares? Some people believe thinking happy thoughts before falling asleep will lessen the chance of nightmares. Also, if you realise you're having a nightmare, you might be able to wake yourself up from it with a little willpower.

[Hard to tell through the writing, but she's pausing here and there and she tries to remember what she can about nightmares.]

Sorry if that wasn't very helpful.

Waking up from nightmares with willpower?

[Jeb thinks about that for a moment.]

Maybe I could train myself to do that, and think of happy things before sleeping, too! Thank you!

No problem! I'm glad I could have helped out after all.

It might be a little tough, as you would have to have a nightmare in order to train yourself to wake yourself out of them, but I wish you good luck and hope it comes to you quickly!

Thank you very much! I hope it comes to me quickly, too!

[He really hopes it comes to him quickly, though he has his doubts...]

[Nightmares...She has those too, nightmares about being hurt and nightmares about hurting others. Her handwriting is just a bit untidier than usual as she responds.]

Wake yourself up if you can, then go distract yourself a bit. Do some stuff you like.

I've been trying to draw my feelings after having the nightmares out, but it hasn't worked just yet. The nightmares just keep coming.

[And without thinking, he adds:]

Maybe it's all my fault.

Did you do something bad?

[The reply comes much later than it should, considering its short length.]

I wasn't trying to, I really wasn't! I was trying to be helpful.

[Hm. This is a subject she's familiar with.]

Have you been having them for a long time?

Not very long, just about a month.

[But with the intensity of the nightmares, a month is probably far too long.]

[There's a pause and an overheard 'hmm', as she adds a lock on to the messages. Particularly after catching a snatch of his talk with Anise-]

I see... so this isn't something that's was exactly common for you before arriving here?

No, not really. I mean, I would have nightmares sometimes, but they would never be like these ones.

[As he writes that, he feels some phantom pain along his wings.]

[... oh. THAT'S familiar, although it's been a while since Emil last had any bad ones.]

Do you mean help them go away, or help you get back to sleep after you have one?

[He hadn't expected a vocal response. Jeb responds in the same manner.]

A little bit of both, to be honest. I'm not used to them happening so often...

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes drinking chamomile tea or taking a hot bath can help calm me down after I've had a bad dream, but I don't know how to make them go away completely.

A hot bath? I've been trying tea, but taking a hot hot hadn't even crossed my mind. Thank you so much! And... it's okay if you don't know how to make them go away all together. It's not an easy thing to do. I think a lot of people aren't completely sure!
