I need a new name for this journal!
I'm more than open to suggestions. (Translation: Help help help!)
The weather's been amazing; I wish I could keep my window open, but there's a big hole in the screen and I don't want my room infested with buzzing winged things.
My dad's in town; he drove up from Pensacola to drop off my car (and some boxes); he's taking a flight to Germany tomorrow. I'm driving him in; it'll be both my first time driving to Logan Airport and my first time driving into Boston. I'm both excited and nervous; I actually like driving, but it's been so long since I did any city driving and Boston's mad to begin with.
No classes today, just music lessons and work. I skipped work to hang out with my dad, so it was really just a musical day. Fiddleheads is having our final concert of the year on Saturday at four in the afternoon; it's my final concert as a member, as well as the last one for many of my friends in it. We came in as first years, and we've been together for four years, excluding time we were each abroad studying. I have a huge part in the concert; one of the gals did an arrangement of Loreena McKennett's "The Bonny Swans," and the harp is both a big part of the musical aspect and the story of the song itself.
I had a job fair that I went to at 4:30; it was a panel of recruiters who collected our resumes after talking for an hour and a half. They'll call if they're interested. I really hope they're interested.
I have a paper to write tonight and tomorrow; ten to twelve pages of the first draft of my final paper for my Spanish class. No big deal, really. Portrayals of children in fiction dealing with Franco-era Spain, specifically several works of literature and "Pan's Labyrinth." I know basically what I want to say, it's just a matter of doing it.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the current YouTube fad of "kinetic typography." Basically, people have been recreating scenes from movies using only text and the motion of the words. I'm enjoying this immensely, being a word girl by nature. One of my favorites:
"V for Vendetta"

I'm a little annoyed that trying to embed more than one video on this entry makes all the videos the same. Too tired to figure it out. Go watch the one from Full Metal Jacket, Marv's Monologue from Sin City, and the soap scene from Fight Club.
