This hasn't been the best summer

I was on the verge of letting LJ fall by the wayside. Between not really feeling like I had anything important to say, not really thinking anyone really reads this anymore, and precious few of my friends continuing to post in their own LJs, I just wasn't sure why I was trying to keep it going.  I decided to keep it going, as posting usually makes ( Read more... )

I still read! Can't say I write in LJ anymore, I've moved onto blogger, but even that only gets updated once in a blue moon.

I don't really have career advice for you though. Sorry :-(

I still read too :) Sorry the job search is the suck... the Army would be intense, but I'm sure you knew that. I can give you some pointers once my brother is done with basic!

the Army would be an interesting move. for someone with your skills, they would likely send you to officer training and not through the typical routine. it can be a good way to get job training and employment options, working as a civilian has been the best of both worlds for me but getting my job was very much being in the right place at the right time. if you can see yourself being happy working as a shrink, then that might be a good way to go.

I definitely agree that jury consulting was way too stressful as a long-term career choice, and while it was interesting work it wasn't really worth all the long hours and demands on your time. I'd say keep looking and see if other options come up, but keep this as a "plan b."

I agree that this has definitely not been the best of summers. let me know if you feel up to company any time soon.
