Over the weekend, I made chocolate croissants. And I must say, despite them taking 8 hours (with a break overnight) to make, they are exquisite. If anyone has a weekend to blow on making little delicious, fattening, chocolate pieces of heaven, let me know, and I'll get you the recipe.

I found out earlier this week (on the news, not at work...) that there's been an outbreak of staph infections in three fire stations. One of which is mine. Which is also the one with the most infections. I'm not usually germ-phobic, but today I was really quite bad. I never realized how much I enjoy being in my office by myself until I pretty much lost that with the addition of another person to the office. As much as human contact is nice, having my own office is pretty sweet. I enjoy the occasional visitor, and I enjoy working with the other people here. I haven't had a real meal since lunch on Friday. I'm pretty sure I ate dinner that night, but I couldn't tell you what it was. And Saturday, I forced myself to eat lunch at 3. Today I spent the better part of my 5 hours at work creating a (very oversized) matchbook out of construction paper. Who else can do that and say they've had a productive day? I prepped for a presentation to some fire investigators as well, but the matchbook really was the highlight of my day. (Perhaps because I spent way too much time on it.)

I had a great little vacation to NJ, into which I fit a family reunion, a baseball game in Washingon, DC, clothes shopping with my mom, a trip to Albany, my dad's retirement dinner, and a whole bunch of visits with my nephew.
