I haven't done much of anything productive this week. I'm trying to read through my dissertation and edit it, but it's been two days and I'm only through about 35 pages. I just got back from Easter dinner at my neighbor's parents' house. I had a wonderful time; it was great that I didn't have to spend the day alone. It started with two glasses of peach champagne; I think the second one got supplemented with some pear champagne... and then I had two glasses of wine with dinner... Yesterday was tons of fun. It took 5 hours to get to Indian Wells, but then we spent about 8 glorious hours watching some great tennis. Not including the charity event with Courier and Sampras last year, it was my first view of live tennis. I had a great time, got sunburnt, and took a whole bunch of pictures. My neighbor, who can't handle her gluten, explained to me about vodka made from potatoes when we went to Trader Joe's a few weeks ago. They have there a potato vodka which she tried and found to be rather good. So when I went today, I decided that, for $10 a liter, I certainly could see what potato vodka was all about. I saw 10,000 BC this afternoon. It wasn't bad, but the filmmakers sure took some liberties. It was weird to hear them speaking English, first off. But after getting past that, I was able to enjoy the movie, until I got totally confused by the geography. Granted, the world was different back then. I finally heard from my advisor, yay! He didn't get a revised draft back to me, but he answered all my other questions. He also said he'd 'continue' to look over the last draft he got.
