Surprising fun!

Well, the wedding show turned out to be surprisingly great!

Brian's mom was great and his sister (one of the bridesmaids came along). We got several things accomplished. We're getting the tuxes from The Tux Shop. Brian's mom gave them a deposit and we'll get 50% off all the tuxes.
My thought was to have the groomsmen wear light blue vests with regular neckties, and a wingtip collared shirt. Then I thought the Dad's could wear a different colored vest or something. Thoughts? Should the Groom and Dad's wear different colors than the groomsmen?

Then, Brian's mom put a deposit on a ice sculpture for us. She told me not to worry about the cost or the budget....she wanted to do it for us. Now, my new last name is going to be Griffin. So we were able to find an ice artist who has done Griffins before (the mythological animal). I'm not really into the theme wedding thing - I am way too traditional. But, we agreed not to tell Brian what we found, because he is going to be so excited. It'll be like a 3-dimentional implied monogram.

All in all, we had a great time, got some things knocked off the list and all was well. Until yesterday.....

Brian's mom called to ask about table sizes for linens, etc. But, then she hit me with the fact that she doesn't think we need to do favors because we aren't having a sit down dinner. UGH! At least she said to just think about it. But, I had to sit throught her long explaination of reasoning first.

Anyway, I think at this point....I'm just going to start scoring good stuff and not tally the bad unless it REALLY bad.
