Last night we had another session for our pre-marital counseling. It actually went very well. We talked more about my obsession with needing control and order. We deducted that my need for control stems from me using the control to quell my anxiety. Then she dropped the bomb ( Read more... )

No way girl! Look at the situation you are in. Of COURSE if you are anxiety prone, this is going to be the time it all comes out. Having a few friends who go both ways - some on depression meds and others on anxiety meds (they sound like a crazy bunch, but really they are totally normal everyday people just taking good care of themselves), I think that once the wedding is over you could consider going off them, but it would just depend on how you feel. It would help you to figure out how they are affecting you, which would probably best be done by keeping a journal of how the medicine affects you both physically and emotionally. That way you can clearly see the benefits and drawbacks.

And no, you will not be a different person when you are on meds, I never notice anything but a slight mood change when my friends go on/off.

Thanks for the support. I've changed my doctor's appt to my regular physican (he can see me Tuesday as opposed to a week from Wednesday). Hopefully things will improve a bit.

I think your journaling idea is a great suggestion. I'll try it!
