[[Toph]]: The boundary of two worlds.

Auron is occasionally a creature of habit. When the idea of training Toph had gotten into his head, he'd decided he wanted to see just what she was capable of. He'd said he would meet her within the Nexus, but outside the anti-violence field. After all, training carries risks, and without the risk, learning properly is impossible ( Read more... )

Toph senses her latest instructor standing next to the stream as she approaches from a nearby hill. She takes in the scenery with her earth-sense and listens to the sound of the rushing water in the river. She could get used to this part of the nexus.

Luckily, she'd come up with a way of easily transporting the sword; it hovers next to her on a flat slab of rock that she levitates with an extended hand. She didn't want to try dragging the thing around the right way yet.

"Nice place," she calls out to him as she walks up to Auron.

It is a good place, that much is certain. One could truly be at peace, here. Well, at least, if there was noone swinging a blade at your head.

But that won't happen just yet. Auron simply notes Toph's approach, and grins at her method of carrying her new weapon.

"When you're prepared, lift the blade above your head, Toph. I want to see how strong you are."

She nods and drops the slab of rock to the ground. She widens her stance and rubs her hands together in preparation. Auron may notice her twist her feet slightly, causing them to sink several inches into the ground to increase her stability.

After a few moments of preparation, she crouches down and grips the hilt of the sword and begins to lift. A strained look appears on her face as the sword rises up from the ground. She lifts it until it is straight out in front of her before she has to summon gloves of stone to aid her. With the added strength, she finally manages to get the sword above her head.

Of course, she's not too sure how long she can keep it there. Beads of sweat trickle down her forehead. "Uh, how long do I have to stay like this?" she asks a bit frantically.

".. Excellent. Just for a second or two more."

Auron is a fairly good judge of character - and of strength. He'll wait until she has to truly push herself, and then he'll bark out the rest of the order.

"Bring it down... Now!!!"

When the blade hits, well - perhaps she'll see why it's called 'Gorgon's Gaze'.
