If there was one thing the Joker knew how to do, it was entertain. It was usually only to his benefit considering that, more often than not, his guests were usually killed at some point during the festivities but this time was different. He'd given his word.

But that didn't mean he couldn't have a good time. He had sent some of his lackeys to pick ( Read more... )

Murphy had done a lot of stupid things in her life. This ranked at the top. She had her clutch piece on her ankle, but with no cuffs and without backup, she has a sneaking suspicion this was going to end really badly for her.

But no one in the Gotham PD could get this close to the Joker and she had arrested him once before. She has Harry's ring to protect her from fire and Snake's bracelet if things really get ugly. She knew she was walking into what was probably a trap and knowledge was her best weapon.

Still, when she got out of the limo and noted the headless horse, she couldn't help but feel like she was walking into Hell itself. "That's a bit cliche, don't you think?" she said, going for false bravado.

He hopped off the horse and walked towards her, his coat swishing slightly as he did so, flashing bright orange.

"What kinda fair grounds did you go to?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

He deliberately made sure his gloved hands remained in view just to be sure. He had a suspicion that she'd shoot him if she had to and that right was reserved for either the Batman or himself. He might not have had plans but he certainly had an agenda, after all.

He'd have to keep that in mind.

Though she stood her ground, Murphy tensed as he approached. She wasn't taking any more chances than she had to in this conversation. Silently she was tempted to pray. Or find a portable Bat Signal.

"The kind without headless horses and good safety standards." She said dryly, "You know, working ones."

"Who said it wasn't working?" He stepped aside and waved for her to venture more inside the fair where there were numerous other broken rides. But he wanted to bring her attention, not to these, but to something more towards the back of the fair, passed the ferris wheel with the missing chairs and helter skelter with no roof.

There, seemingly forgotten, was a funhouse.

The outside of it was decorated with an assortment of circus animals in different poses. Here and there was a smiling clown, the face enlarged, grinning at them. The Joker lead her closer towards it.
