Occupation/Grade: Junior

Room: 408

PB: Guy Cecil (Tales of the Abyss)

Appearance: Rolf is a handsome young man who is fairly tall with a lean, athletic build. He doesn't stray much from the school dress code, preferring a clean and neat look as opposed to a sloppy one. During the summer months, he prefers to wear a white polo with his uniform, and when he needs to wear a button-down during Winter, he likes to roll up the sleeves.

He doesn't have the biggest wardrobe, but he makes it a point to buy quality (and fashionable) clothing when he can. He likes shirts with designer prints on them and he prefers warm to neutral colors like orange, yellow, and white. If he had the money, he'd probably like to accessorize as well.

Personality: Rolf is your classic golden boy. Very quick to learn, he excels at his classes and he’s a natural at anything athletic, especially boxing, his sport of choice. Things just seem to come naturally to him without the least bit of effort... which has blown his self-confidence sky-high.

With the utmost confidence in his abilities, he believes himself to be infallible-nothing can go wrong and no goal is unreachable. Self-assured, he is always smiling and optimistic to the point of being seemingly carefree. He rarely has a temper, at least with his friends, preferring to laugh things off and move on.

While not lingering too much on a problem might be a good thing, one may believe he can't take things very seriously. In fact, he probably doesn't. He doesn't put a lot of effort into his studies or his sports, and if something requires too much effort for him to learn properly, he'd prefer to drop it and move onto something easier: He tried to pick up Soccer, but since he had to learn to be a "team player" and "pass the ball sometimes", he got frustrated and dived right into a solo sport-- Boxing. At least with boxing, he only needs to rely on himself. Plus, what boy doesn't like to hit things?

Brimming with this self-confidence makes him a bit prideful as well. It makes it very hard for him to ask for any aid, whether it is for the rare homework question that has stumped him, or even for something simple like directions (he’d rather wander around in circles).

He can also be a bit brash, especially when it comes to his family, but he won't ever be outright rude. He's friendly by nature and he treats everyone very well, even those whom he doesn't very much care for. He's an honest young man and is a very poor liar-- He is also completely transparent, wearing his emotions on his sleeve.

History: Rolf's mother and father are immigrants from Norway who settled in the diverse city of Abaton, looking for a new way of life. They are blue-collar workers who know just enough English to get by with their daily lives, and while they are by no means rich, they are quite happy, especially when Rolf is born.

It is probably from his parents that his optimism and confidence originates. Without so much as a cent or knowing a lick of English, they still managed to thrive in this foreign country, making enough to get by and save a little at time for their son's college fund. They were able and are still building from the ground up-- If his immigrant parents can thrive, then the possibilities for their native-born son are endless.

His parents are very supportive of their very bright son, encouraging him in all of his endeavors, but they weren't very helpful in his academics as he was growing up. Since their knowledge of English was limited, they weren't able to help with things like homework, forcing him to become rather self-reliant.

His mother is a rather overbearing at times, fussing over the littlest things, which causes him to lash out at times in rebellion. And while his parents may have good, common sense advice, he doesn't usually acknowledge them-- they're common sense, after all, and he can handle things himself. Plus, he's still alive.

Well, there was that "near-death experience" when he was about six. He was told not to run around the public pool they frequently visited. But lo and behold, he was zipping around anyway and ended up slipping and belly flopping in. He flailed for a good twenty seconds before someone could rescue him. Suffice it to say, despite being a natural athlete, he still doesn't know how to swim and he won't go anywhere near a body of water deeper than four feet.

He had zipped through Elementary School and Junior High with his natural intelligence, which earned him a scholarship at Adessi Hall. While his mother did drive him crazy at times with her incessant fussing, he was still reluctant to attend the private school, since there was a requirement to move into the dorms. Still, he recognized it was a good opportunity to attend such a reputable school, and despite the initial hesitation, he jumped right in. Sort of.

He made friends easily but also took the lowest level courses for his Freshmen year, earning top marks. Eventually, his teachers and counselor caught wind of this and basically forced him into Honors level courses, and eventually AP classes in Junior year, much to his chagrin.

At the moment, he doesn't play any sports at school, which became a sore point for him after the Soccer Fiasco. He's a bit of a ball hogger by nature, and despite the constant pleas of his coach and teammates, he just couldn't give up the ball. He was finally "let go" (kicked out), and he felt very wronged by it-- it wasn't like he was trying to show off! To this day, he won't play any team sports at school, and instead, joined a boxing club at a local gym to let off steam.
