my mind often brings up disturbing memories from my childhood that i've forced ti the back of my mind for a good ten years and now they just keep coming into my mind randomly which is irritating.

i think your honours thesis subject is interesting, the only problem is that unlike arts you cant bullshit your way through it, you have to be able to show evidence to support your statement. stick with the arts, its one of the rare times in your life where (aside from being a lawyer...and without the degree and study for law) you can lie through your teeth in an argument and so long as you make it good and just argue and its considered to be acceptable.
