So, 2011, huh. Seems like I barely got used to 2010 before it moved up a notch again. Could this mean I'm... getting old? Perhaps I need to reclaim my youth! Quick, to the timemachine

Ah, Weiss Kreuz, I remember it well. :) I watched it with the American voices and the most redeeming thing of the series to me was the collection of outtakes. They were hilarious and actually made fun of the series.
I never did see the OAV, but you've pretty much covered it. Thanks!
That was beautiful x) Aren't you happy I forced you to watch the OAVs, too? Although it's sort of sad to be reminded that the series could've actually been good...
I think Weiss get paid for the assassinations - I vaguely remember someone saying that Aya was partly doing it to pay his sister's hospital fees..? Or was it in a fan fic? With Weiss Kreuz, I'm never sure.
Even in this fucking awful series, Brad manages to be badass. He's just that cool. Shuldig was surprisingly good as well, whereas zombie Farfarello and Nagi who rather disturbingly LIKES TOT were just confusing.

Hey now, I was a pretty easy sell. XD

My feelings exactly. I might not have to cringe in shame when I confess I used to like Weiss Kreuz if it was, y'know, made with any actual effort...

I think it was in the anime, because I seem to recall that, too. But even if he got the bills paid (and in the OAV, Aya-chan is out of the hospital anyway), they still had to eat something. Nah, what am I saying. They're Weiss. They live on starlight and posing.

Your descriptions are very funny, so there's that in Weiss Kreuz' favour. It inspires hilarity! I know very little of the actual series, but I've read some fanfic in my time and yeah, I petty much skipped to the parts where the very bad assassins were doing very bad things and occasionally fucking, in many unbelievably ways (it must've been my assassin phase, surely we've all had one of those!). Oh stupid, pointless slash, how you've sustained me over the years.
o7 Always glad to entertain. And hell, how can you not laugh at this stuff? I love Japan in all its equal opportunity fan service glory, but jeez, you can't take any of if seriously...
(it must've been my assassin phase, surely we've all had one of those!)
Ha, everybody's dark pasts are revealed in this post! It's like a WK episode! XD
Of course we all had an assassin phase. Assassins rock. Sneakily.
I feel like a stalker, but I came by way of wanting to read Common Ground again- taking my own trip down memory lane and whatnot.
Weiss for me was 2003, and, thank goodness, we realized it was redonk then, but still. So much love for it. Your descriptions had me in fits. Mostly due to them being so true. "I'm thin and confused and obsessed with dark, edgy stuff, like pretty florists who kill people with wires and darts! oh hello, my entire high school experience!
...my father actually watched the series with me. He laughed about as much as we did. It was fantastic in its unintentional hilarity. The premise is what drew me to it, 'florists by day, assassins by night' because, seriously? How can that not be awesome?
Weiss is so bad it's good.
anyway, sorry for being a creeper and leaving incoherent comments, (they were more organized in my head), and thank you both for one of my favorite Drake/JJ fics, and also for the utterly delightful reminiscing of Weiss.
Trips are always more fun with more people coming along! No need to fear like a creeper, I keep this journal (quiet as it is) public for a reason. :)
Weiss is so bad it's good.
Well, after watching it after so long, I have to say I mostly agree. Some of it was surprisingly good, some surprisingly bad. All in all it balances out to a guilty pleasure, I suppose. *g*
Oh dear, Common Ground. *g* I'm glad you've enjoyed it! I'm just going to go now before I get the urge to edit the crap out of it again. It's not good for the ego to dwell on one's old fics, I find... X)
haha, fear like a creeper made me burst into don't Fear the Reaper. Ah, rhymes.
Weiss makes for fantastic references, as well.
Yeah, i love Common Ground! Probably the first Drake/JJ I ever found, too. And the one I always go back to when i'm in the Fake mood. i never read Dee/Ryo- I guess it's so covered in the manga, (unlike Gravi, where I'll read Yuki/Shuichi non stop), so I just... don't need fic for it.
God, i physically tore old fics, written on paper- from passing them to friends in high school, up the other night. We're moving, seemed a good time to delete bad!fic from existence.
!!! Oh wow, if I hadn't for some reason kept the email alerts active for new LJ comments I never would have seen this! Thank you so much for reaching out! I'm doing pretty well, enjoying being a Fandom Old. I've been feeling nostalgic for the fandom days past lately, what with the new adaptation of Good Omens and so on. How about you, how have you been? I'd love to have a chat and catch up!
I'll send you a message with the info about where I can be found these days. I'm afraid this LJ has been long abandoned. I just haven't had the heart to completely delete it. It was my fandom home for so long. <3
