my supervisor, reggie, asked me when i got to work today what i thought of gay marriage, and ran the usual gauntlet of questions meant to convert me to see things his way. i said that if two consenting adults of the same gender want to have sex and/or get married then it is their business so long as they don't physically harm anyone else. reggie ( Read more... )

How is it going to hurt heterosexuals? And you get the fucking, "Marriage is sacred!" Sure, sure, sure.
Denying gays the right to marry is ridiculous. People think this is going to change their sexuality to being a heterosexual? THAT is laughable. It is not. Do they think this is going to stop them from having a partner? No, it is not. They're just denying them of something THEY SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO AS A CITIZEN. You know, when someone asks me what marriage is, I would tell them a bond & commitment between two people who love each other. But no, others seem to think differently. And, I honestly have no words for why they believe that it's between a man and a woman only. Love is love. Marriage is love. I was raised in a Roman Catholic household, and Catholics seem to bluntly hate homosexuals. They condem them to Hell.

It's people like him that make tragedies like the one with Matthew Shepard. Ignorance kills.

I find it odd that they just said the males were "attracted to other males", but they gave details about what the females did to other females.
Maybe they are just describing the usual male ritual, which the females are now doing, but this leaves me wondering...did the altered males continue this ritual, and just do it to males, or did they begin to act like females?
I'm just used to seeing this in practically anywhere else, but not in fruitfly articles.

Because we recognize the rights of horses to have their own agency over their own life. Because a horse is fully capable of signing a marriage certificate. Because a horse is a citizen, due the rights given to every citizen. For these reasons, we must give them the right to marry whomever they choose, be it man, woman, child, a book, a tree, or even another horse. Historically, horses have been oppressed, pulling our carts and racing for our amusement. But now we see the error of our ways. Not to give horses the right to marry would only ensure that our moral stance as a nation stays on par with that of a bat.
