Working in retail is quite the experience, to say the least. Being an associate has taught me to be humble and patience is a must, especially when dealing with ignorant customers. For example, a couple days ago I was asked by a woman, 'Excuse me, do you speak english?' Now, she wasn't condescending about it, but that didn't make it any less ignorant. I really wanted to tell her, 'No ma'am, I don't speak english.' Of course I can't because I'll get a new asshole ripped for me by one of the supervisors. Two days ago a girl that I was working with went into the dressing room to tell people to please bring the merchandise they weren't planning on buying out to the rack labeled "dressing room merchandise." One woman said something along the lines of, 'Why should we have to bring stuff out? You're paid to clean up after us.' I wanted to bitch slap her. Last night I was helping a woman pick out a shirt which I didn't mind doing 'cause I'm supposed to help people, but she wanted my undivided attention. This wouldn't have been a problem if I wasn't the only one in the department. She kept asking me if the shirt looks okay on her and why it looks okay. I gave some bs answer that the green brings out her eyes. Then, she told me to go find a shirt in a certain style and I always feel weary of leaving a section by itself, but I did it anyway=/ I think I waited on this woman for a good ten minutes. Luckily, she bought the stuff she had tried on and actually thanked me, so it wasn't really a bad experience... just slightly annoying.
