"The Doctor's Wife" Doctor Who 6.4

  • The Corsair. Another Time Lord the Doctor got along with. Awwww. He AND she on occasion, hmmm? So that's canon now. I am very pleased.

  • I really really liked Amy this ep. Even more than usual. She knows when he gets emotional, he shuts people out, and that Bad Things happen when he does that. Too bad she fell for his trick. Well, now she knows that one. She's so terrified of not being ableto help leaving Rory behind again, and that he'll hate for it. Oh,Amy. *hugs her lots*

  • The Doctor told her what happened to his people, and seemed to have actually been honest about it. Wow. I'm so weirdly proud of him. It makes him sending them away even dumber, though.

  • The Doctor's quiet, “Doesn't everyone?” just broke my heart.

  • The TARDIS seriously does not see Time like we do. Very cool. I wonder if knows how the Doctor dies. Probably.

  • My Thief! Eeeeeee. How much do I love THAT THEY STOLE EACH OTHER, and she is never giving him back? That and the biting. A wee bit possessive there, TARDIS? She doesn't seem to really mind the strays though. That's good. It would be sad if she did.

  • I wonder why Rory is the pretty one?

  • Speaking of Rory. The husband pointedout that the House didn't seem able to mess with his head. I thoughtwe were just seeing what Amy saw, because she's usually our POVcharacter. But husband is right. Rory seemed to be wandering aroundconfused, but not seeing any illusions. Iiiiiinteresting.

  • “Alive” and “Hello”. I thought it might be love, but this was so much better. Love didn't need to be said.

I can't help but be remined of one of my favorite bits of poetry put to music ever.

We could stand for a century
Staring
With our heads cocked
In the broad daylight at this thing
Joy
Landlocked
In bodies that don't keep
Dumbstruck with the sweetness of being
Till we don't be

Told; take this
Eat this

Told, the meteorite is the source of the light
And the meteor's just what we see
And the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid
of the fire that propelled it to thee

And the meteorite's just what causes the light
And the meteor's how it's perceived
And the meteoroid's a bone thrown from the void
that lies quiet in offering to thee  - Joanna Newsom, “Emily”
