number four is a bit off topic.

This post isn't about me. It's about someone I care about, how proud I am of her, and how I hope she achieves everything she wants to.

I used to be at St. Andrews University. I'm not any more, but my girlfriend still is, and is currently in the middle of an election campaign. She's running for one of the Sabbatical positions* and is one of three candidates being considered for DoSDA**. I am fully aware that I am more than slightly biased, given she's my girlfriend, but I truly believe that Carley is the best candidate for the job. I'm even more certain about that having now heard the Sabb debate, too.

This evening, there was a debate/q&a across all positions, and as I couldn't be in St. A, I listened online. Having waited through the (boring) Sports President section, it was finally time for the DoSDA showdown, and in all honesty, I was a little nervous. Sure, I know she's the right person for the job, but people are lazy and would rather simply vote for someone they know as opposed to actually reading all of the candidates' policies and making an informed choice. So I was quite hopeful about the debate and its potential for getting her name and ideas out there.

I couldn't have been happier, tbh. She blew me away. Hearing her spiel was amazing. I'm not gonna lie, my heart did skip a beat and I did swoon a little bit. She was just so put together and ... convincing. If I was completely impartial, she'd have won my vote tonight. No word of a lie. I'm just so proud of her ...

I really hope she wins the election. Voting is on Friday, and we'll know either way by the time I'm at work on Saturday.

I'll let you know how it goes, and write a post-election analysis.

PS: I freakin' love this girl, and really hope she gets the position. She deserves it. I just wish this job was something I could give her.

* The four Sabb positions are highly sought after, paid roles, and involve running the Student's Association, essentially.
