I do know about free trade- it's the ability to trade freely without tariffs, embargos and a lot of import rules. it's bad news. it's why China can ship us stuff that would never reach US standards of production and toys with lead in them. it makes importing things cheaper than buying and supporting your own country because their standards are so much lower and therefore cheaper to produce to begin with. Fair trade on the other hand, is paying people who make the goods what the goods are actually worth in safe (r) conditions. So, instead of paying columbia 5cents for a pound of coffee that a corporation here will make a 75% profit on, they buy the coffee at a typical wholesale price, generally charge more but still often the corporation doesn't make such an exorbitantly unbalanced amount more than their original price. i agree with your view on bumper stickers and pins. although i tend to think politics are stupid in general
