I had customers in the booth complaining a blue streak when the word came that we were closing. I lost me temper a little bit and mentioned that their entertainment did not in fact rank above everyone who worked there's safety...

Good to know you're safe, if soggy.

I had a strained conversation with my Dad this weekend where he tried to convince me that the MDRF was in Baltimore. Sigh.

Well, he's only off by maybe 20 miles (34Km).

At least he got the state right.

He couldn't remember the name of Baltimore, though, so he'd asked "What was the name of the town in Maryland that started with a B...?"

Then he got angry that Annapolis didn't start with a B.

But he's 79, so we have to be forgiving.

the laws of hurricane naming means we won't have another Irene for six years (i think) and depending on damage, maybe never.

As much as I was depressed when I canceled my trip, everyone said it was the right choice, and my boss has already given her approval (heck, encouragement!) to reschedule for sometime in October. Glad all you lot made it home safe.

Here in Florida, we got lucky to be missed, obviously (although we got enough wind and rain that a sewer line in my neighborhood got backed up from debris and now my whole block stinks to high heaven as the utility people are flushing it out! Blehhh!)

See you in six weeks or so, me hearties! Miss you!
