I read a lot of blogs about religion and a lot of blogs about women's issues, as well as several that cover a combination of the two. I've read several posts recently about the problem of hell, i.e., infinite punishment for finite sin, and I suddenly had the thought that there might be some connection between that and the way conservative

I've always wondered what they see as the consequences for the man, because it takes 2 to tango! Oh wait, the little slut probably seduced him like Eve, so it's not his fault. :P

Theoretically, he's supposed to marry her and stick around for the rest of his natural life, but he is not required to carry a pregnancy or give birth. (Can you imagine what contraceptive and abortion legislation would look like in this country if men could get pregnant?)

Also, some churches (including my favourite, MHC) are now turning things around and saying that the man is more at fault for non-marital sex, because women are weak-willed creatures, and men should know better. We just can't win, can we?

So we're either evil temptresses or helpless damsels with no will of our own. It couldn't possibly be because sexual activity is natural, instinctual and bloody good fun for both sexes.
