i am nineteen years old today and for the first time, it doesn't sound awkward or uncomfortable. i feel my age, yet i'm afraid of aging. i never want to be twenty, there's not enough teen in that word for me; there's not enough time in that word for me. i am becoming, for the most part, everything i've ever wanted to become. a woman (well, almost)
