Who's your doctor?

So last night I finally sat down and watched Friday's episodes of the new Doctor Who. I have mixed feelings about it. I enjoyed the episodes but there seemed to be something missing. I've been downloading and watching the new series since it started in Britain. The new Doctor is in the same continuity, though we won't really be dealing that much with it in this season, except for the return of a VERY familiar group of villains.

And don't worry about depth of story. Eventually, they start having two-parters, and by the end everything ties together in a HUGE season finale.

I do miss the old outfits, though... But, not to give anything too big away, this Doctor will only be around for this season. I like the next Doctor (David Tennant) much better. What I've seen of him so far, anyway. He's a bigger fan of the old shows (got into acting in the first place in the hopes of being Doctor Who) and seems to be much more of a 'classic' Doctor than Eccleston. Apparently, there'll be more classic stuff in the next season that's about to start over there, including the one-ep return of Sarah Jane Smith and K9, and the return of a few more familiar adversaries.

The autons were referred to as Nestines in the original series:

See: Spearhead from Space, and Terror of the Autons.

So yes, the continuity WAS kept.

I concur, I didn't like the series opener as much as the second episode, and i do like the bits of drama they've put in it. How would you like to see your world die simply because the money ran out? Looking forward to some neater stories and villains...
