Hey there...

Do you hear that, Gentle Reader? It is the sound of a high, lonesome wind. If you watch this journal long enough, a tumbleweed may roll through.

Which is to say, I've been in deep introvert mode these past several weeks. But. I'm back today to say hello, and to share a few things.

'ALLO!!!!!

How's your coal stuff coming?

You got to PLAY with PUPPETS!

And MODERATE PANELS!

Most cool!

And so's all your duct tape armor stuff! What a fun clan you've got out there in the east.

I admit I haven't been looking at coal much in the last few days as I have been busy with Other Things (like interviewing people over Skype for the next OA Podcast, which will be totally awesome). I plan to resume coal related things soonish, though. How's yours?

Playing with puppets was SO COOL! She let me make the fox marionette walk. I am pretty sure he looked REALLY drunk in my hands...

And yes, the New England cohort is super fun. Rumor has it you will come to grace us with your presence in July, yes? Still planning to come to stay and go to Readercon and all that?

I haven't been able to work on my coal story since my last day off. Monday. Not a minute squeezed for me. Not a minute. Well, there was that minute when I watched "Tangled." And that other minute when I finished reading one and a half Abercrombie novels... BALLS!

I am coming out in July, but the cohort grew from just me getting there "somehow" to me and Patty and Brendan, so we decided to split a hotel room. We will see you in it! You will sing to us!

Meanwhile, still planning to move out east in August, or thereabouts. You'll be seeing me around.

:)

Hurray for more of you! I am excited to see Patty, too! And hurray for you being around starting in August. I heard a rumor about that on a certain podcast interview you gave, but I wasn't sure if it was for real. We will steal you away and lead you on merry rambles with Asakiyme!

Now I want to know how to make Noise with Legumes.

Well, these were dried pods from trees, which I think asakiyume must have collected in a previous season and decorated with white paint. They rattled when shaken. It was pretty neat.

They're black locust pods! They make great rattles.

Ah, yes, I'm pretty sure my grandparents' house out in CA had some of those on the property. They were fun.
