I agree with you about how sad it is that all the good PC games these days require a monthly subscription. I played EverQuest for about 6 months and then couldn't afford it anymore (this was way back when I was in college) and haven't played another MMORPG since then... I am semi-excited about the new Stargate game that is in the works but not overly so since it is a MMORPG and I probably won't participate (not to mention that at the moment I can't afford to upgrade my computer and it is woefully underpowered since I haven't upgraded in quite some time now
