Sex slavery and human trafficking is every bodies business. And it's not just happening in Eastern Europe or South East Asia either- it's a huge market in "developed" countries like the US too.

it's always shocking when i find out people don't realize sexual slavery is all over the US where i live. it's just everywhere. they seem to think it's some foreign issue. no one ever talks about it. i want to cry just thinking about it.

yeah, it's apparently a really big problem in the States now, Ohio and portland are well known as trafficking hubs.
I mean, from a purely financial standpoint it makes sense- there's huge money to be made from slavery with virtually no risks. There is no effort to prosecute a human trafficker the way there is with a drug trafficker, which is really fucking disgusting when you think about it.
*sigh*
I go through stages where I'm signing petitions and reading up on these things but I burn out pretty quickly, it's so fucking depressing.
