As I said in the post below, we just don't bother to pursue and prosecute human traffickers the way we do drug traffickers. Slavery is becoming the crime of choice for a lot of individuals and organisations because the money is great and the risks are virtually nil in comparison to other criminal activities.

I was lying in bed last night thinking about what I would do if anyone ever hurt my daughter and I doubt I would involve the law if I knew who was responsible- the law protects the abusers and vilifies the victims and I wouldn't want my child to go through that. I suspect i would just take care of it via large, scary people.

I'm kind of lucky in that I don't have my own girl(s) to worry about... but god help me, if those type of bastards ever touched anyone I was even vaguely associated with (and that includes your daughter; that's a given) I'd be calling in every single fucking favour I've ever been owed or offered by large, scary types all over the world, to get that youngster safe again.
...Because they're all worth it, and my tribe doesn't consist just of those related to me by blood.
