this weekend i'm going to set out in purchase of one of these (because my cat won't be able to jump on me, run up my body and sit on the back of the computer chair if i use it as one and because it will help stregthen my abdominal muscles and help me in that little pooch area where women end up storing fat when they sit on their ass over several ( Read more... )

If you're going to buy a yoga mat, I'd suggest buying a whole kit that comes with the mat, the block and the band—usually some of these come with a video/dvd as well. Yoga's great.

The mat is meant for Yoga but that's not what I'm going to use it for. For me it's just a nice small area of padding for which I can stress my elbows upon for planks and knees as well for the beginning of the push-ups my trainer is having me do. Otherwise my elbows and knees hurt (as in the amount of pressure with the slight friction from movement gives them rugburn and then they're red and dry all day). I'm avoiding the mats and balls that come with instructional videos/dvds because I won't be using them, basically ( ... )
