So, I was on a forum, and there was a discussion of whether a woman (or anyone) should be able to turn down a date saying that they've decided to take a break from dating. And the question was raised about what if God's chosen mate shows up just after she's turned you down saying she's taking a season... and whether she would accept the chosen mate ( Read more... )

I so agree. I've been told that before and it was not true. It was just an excuse not to date me. I would have preferred being told the truth, especially since he started dating my close friend behind my back. Then I just felt doubly betrayed. I could have understood he just preferred her. Then it shadowed both of their testimonies in the eyes of many. Honesty is always best.

Honesty is sometimes difficult. Sometimes hard to know for sure. The exceptions are very, very, very, very rare, but honesty is nearly, nearly, nearly always best in the long run.

I truly, truly, truly agree with that. Sometimes circumstances does make complete honesty difficult.

And sometimes, it's hard to see the fact that being honest will do less harm in the long run.
