I am officially done with college. I only have to hand in paperwork about my colloquium, and finish working for Sut, but classes and finals are over. This feels very odd. And I have more than 10 days until graduation. I'll have things to do during that time, working for SRRI to make some extra cash before Boy Wonder and I move into the new flat (ha ( Read more... )

hah, up indeed. she had a bun in the oven and carried it to full term so clearly she isn't unhealthy. and look at you--you'd never guess that you're the type who can house 9 pounds of gushers in one sitting!

>are you a contrarian?

little miss mary ain't got nothing on me.

girls do dig being voluptuous, but it always seems to be hard to achieve the impossible ideal of simultaneously being curvy and toned and skinny. if you go for thin, you're going to lose some mass in the boobage and butt area, and when you're feeling chubby you console yourself by saying, 'at least i have a killer rack!'

i think it's especially female to never be happy with the status quo. don't get me wrong, there are PLENTY of days when i'm like ron burgendy: "i look good. i mean REAL good. HEY EVERYBODY--COME AND SEE HOW GOOD I LOOK!" i think that if it were a true goal of mine to look like kate moss, i would. my priorities aren't totally invested in looking perfect, but because i'm interested in gender roles, aesthetics and human behavior, i do think about self-perfection and beauty ideals a lot.

I know you've said that you like the increasing pressure that men are facing to be pretty boys, but do you think that as more men men see beauty as their obligation too, the expectations for women will rise? I do. I think it's one big competition that feeds into a cycle of high maintenence.

I didn't respond to this for a long time because I read it at first and was like "Cirilia is gorgeous and I hate when she does this!" but listen, I don't just think you look fine, I think you look great. I've never seen hips as something to complain about, but some people have told me that I don't have any so that might be why. But then, I don't find you outrageously hippy either. If it's any consolation, my weight has always fluctuated and I've never been without a bulbous belly, ever. No matter how hard I try. And then I have that big old rib cage and shoulder thing going on, and my waist kind of just gets lost in the middle somewhere. The result? No curves. Last week I was mistaken for a boy for the first time that I know of. Now, granted, I have short hair and all but please, I thought people should at least be able to look at my body and recognize me as female ( ... )
