Finished Xillia. It took me about 40 hours. I did a fair number of side events and exploring but a minimal amount of grinding... people were complaining about the length, but story-wise, at least, I thought it was a good length. I know some of the other Tales games really seem to drag by around the third act, so I don't mind

I definitely agree on the battle system; it's probably the game's strongest point by far.
I do like how we can instantly teleport anywhere we've been before, though I still feel like having some sort of vehicle does add a little bit of uniqueness to a Tales game in general. Plus, if I'm not mistaken they usually give the option to warp instantly too anyway.
I still have quite a ways to go but I'll probably have a review as well when I've beaten Milla's path.
The worst part is that the game sold like hotcakes - I think it's the best first week sales for a Tales game, period - so Bamco is probably going to assume that everything they did is fine, and unfortunately probably continue it in the future. Sigh.

Jude is fine until about 2/3 of the way through, when he goes into full-blown emo mode and you just want to slap the crap out of him. He's a gigantic douchebag to Leah while this is going on.
Anybody could've guessed that Alvin would betray the party just from the preview materials, but even with that the nonsensical manner in which he acts just makes his whole backstory dumb.
