Yup, because it may give me an excuse to ignore my "don't get into ridiculously long ongoing series" rule and start looking at the source material. Or maybe it won't, but either way I'm at least nominally interested in the game.

I have to say I've been feeling the same way lately. Wasn't too impressed by Xillia either...I kind of have low expectations for Graces F but I'm trying to be open about it. I know Zelda isn't really an RPG but I just finished Skyward Sword the other day and also couldn't help but feel it was incomplete and rushed. I'm beginning to think that developers are just really pressured to get games out on time and can't focus on the actual quality of the games themselves anymore, I don't know.

And I actually have the EU version of Xenoblade already so I hope to start that soon~ Just going to finish my current playthrough of Xillia first.

Yeah, that's part of it. Certainly Xillia was rushed. The game industry's kind of stuck because to make more money they have to pump out more games in a short amount of time. I think that's why Bamco is doing all the double-releases with their various director's cuts, why Koei is doing a million versions of Musou games, etc.

I haven't even finished xillia. actually i JUST got leia then... stopped. I'll finish it at some point, but i'm not in a hurry. I didn't finish either version of vesperia either. I hated most of the cast, so i didn't care about it. Neither grabbed me as much as graces did. I played the hell out of that one. And lucky for me i didn't finish the wii version before getting the ps3 version. I guess being slow has it's perks XD

It's a shame how profits are killing the quality of the games. though, some of their merch seems super profitable...

Is The Last Story THAT bad? I'm contemplating importing it next year, but I keep hearing that is pretty bleh.

I know how you feel, though. Games don't excite me nearly as much as they used to. Japane's shrinking influence abroad is incredibly dismaying since, well, I've never really been able to get into Western RPGs. I keep wondering what's next, but the distant future looks bleaker and bleaker.
