This last week my parents had their 49th anniversary.  I was trying to send them an ecard from someecards.com but the site was messing up, so I thought, "Screw it.  I'm gonna call 'em later anyway."

I called up and my dad answered.  I make a big deal about 49 years, joke about how next year they should announce in August that it's all been a sham

Man, that would have been awful! I'm the kind to send nothing but jokey cards, as well. At least I don't send those awful "yo so old" cards - I don't think anyone really ever enjoys those - they just pretend to.

I'm sorry to hear about the parental problem - as we get older, we worry more and more about them - I guess it's payback for all of the worrying they did for us.

What?!? WHAT? That's bizarre, and terrible, and awful. I'm glad you at least got some making out afterward.

When I was younger I used to worry that I could never make a marriage work because my parents couldn't make theirs. It wasn't until my sister got married and I saw how it could work that I felt better.

My own parents were seperated for a while when I was young and it was literally hell for me.
Best christmas present I have ever gotten was them announcing they were back together. Made me feel happiness again.
