Affiliation: Trainer to begin with, but depending on how things develop, he may switch to a Breeder at some point down the road.

Personality:
Shinjiro Aragaki. Shinji. That guy standing in the corner with the coat that's probably too hot and the beanie that makes up half of his head - or, in certain occasions during battle, that guy wearing the tuxedo with slicked back hair that makes him look like a serial killer. To most, he's... To most, he isn't anything. He sticks to himself for the most part, not to stay out of trouble, but rather, purely to stay away from people. To those that do have the unfortunate luck to get involved with him, usually, they don't make the same mistake twice. Silent, rude, blunt, and foul mouthed - not to mention the wielder of a hard head and a mean punch - he'll make his point, be it "Get the fuck out of here." followed by a headbutt that'll give you a concussion, or an axe to the face, if you're an unlucky Shadow. Though not a man of many words, when he wants to be heard, he'll be heard. The thing about Shinji is, though, he almost never wants to be heard.

An important, albeit well well hidden fact about Shinji is that deep down, underneath is tough, foul mouthed exterior, he's... a mom. He loves cooking, and what's more, he's damn good at it too. No, you read that right. He's a mom, he loves to cook, movies about cute animals going through hardships make him cry, and he has a soft spot for dogs - at least. This is all true. Really. More to the point, though, even as he knows his death is steadily approaching, through the Social Link with SEES' leader, Shinji wants to make sure that she, as a girl and all, will be able to take care of everyone, be able to watch out for them and protect them - that his treasured friend (despite the fact that it would be a cold day in hell before he'd admit that) and the other Persona users would be in safe, capable hands after he passed. He wants them to eat right, he wants them to get enough excersise (but not too much), but even moreso... he doesn't say any of this, instead, passing it on to their trusted leader - then his trusted leader as well - knowing the message would still get across, without his distance having to be compromised. Through that, through his Social Link, with spending more and more time with her as her insistance (though he was apparently "secretly happy" through it all), he eventually decides that she is indeed worthy... among other things.

Through seeing the relationship to the end, not only did Shinji start feeling more comfortable being more open about his cooking prowess (despite complaints that "Now every time they see me in the kitchen they want me to make 'em something." and the like) and sharing it with his comrades, but he . He even fell in love with her, to the point that he couldn't get her out of his mind, even if he only admits if after a lot of pushing... not that he doesn't push back once she gets it out of him, if you know what I mean.

On the not-so-happy-or-innuendo-tastic side of things, one of Shinji's driving motives was the guilt and other feelings left behind from killing Ken's mother due to his inability to control his power. He wasn't able to handle that and, despite Akihiko constantly sticking with him over the years, and he began to skip school and live as an outcast, to the eyes of most, a silent thug that no one dared to come near. Eventually, he would be forced to meet the members of Strega at some point so he could begin taking the drugs that would help him control his Persona, the drugs that, eventually, began to drain away his life. He was filled with regret, and despite the newfound desires and feelings he'd found with and thanks to his leader, which he battled with constantly before finally admitting them to her, a part of him - the winning part, apparently - still firmly believed he deserved to die for what he had done, and as Shinji is being taken from before he reaches his "resolution" at the hands of Takaya, even if it's a somewhat failed one thanks to his leader's interventions, this is a feeling and even all out resolve he will still carry with him to the end.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

A true strength of Shinji's, on one hand, is the strength of his resolve, shown at its strongest on his last day (a day that he technically has yet to experience, as far as this RP is concerned) as he, planning on dying no matter what, still does his best to try to save Ken, first from becoming like him, a murderer, and then from actually dying, at the hands of either Ken himself or the madman Takaya, while still managing to get shot through all of that. And that's not even including his secret attempts to help better his team via helpful advice to the leader during his Social Link, as well as his general attitude during battle and other events. Talk about strength of will.

On the other hand, perhaps one of Shinjiro's biggest strengths and weaknesses, especially when considering the origin of the trait, is his ability to distance himself. As a strength, this allows him to keep most away from him, which eventually became a preference of his, albeit perhaps in part out of habit, and it made it more than easy to keep any and all secrets he wanted to stay secret a secret, for the most part. As a weakness, however, naturally and obviously, this distances him from friends, whatever few he has, as well as comrades, . He kept his secret about his dying nearly to the day of his would-be death, to all except for Strega and the leader, who only received hint after hint as they grew closer over the course of their relationship, still with no outright statement revealing what Shinji knew was to come.

And on a third, extra hand, a weakness of Shinjiro's is his guilt from killing Ken's mother. This is a guilt that goes hand in hand with his resolve, a guilt that could even be said to fuel that resolve. Thanks to that guilt, he alienates from almost all people, he resides himself to a fate that ends in death, no matter who's hands it comes from, and is filled with a silent regret each and every day of his life - and we're not even touching base on the fact he also feels this way, perhaps to a slightly lesser extent, about Akihiko's younger sister, Miki, and how she died in a fire in an orphanage the three of them all lived in.

Finally, one last strength of his is, of course, his caring. Unlike Akihiko, who is much more obvious with his desire to protect, Shinjiro is much more silent with it, though seeing as he does his best to pass on the message to the leader, as well as kick as much ass as he can while he has the chance to for the team, it's pretty obvious he's either one violent bastard or he doesn't plan on anyone getting hurt on his watch.

First Person Sample:
[As the video comes on, a grumpy looking young man wearing a beanie and a long, purple trenchcoat appears on the screen. He's looking almost pained, not even looking at the camera at first, but it doesn't appear to be an accident that he hit record. After another moment or so of contemplation, he gives in and turns to the screen - looking for all the world like someone was holding a gun to his head. ... Or that he'd put one to yours if you looked at him wrong.]

... Tch. Can't believe I have to rely on some stupid "network" to get around this crazy ass country. I already don't have time for this shit, this sure as hell won't be speeding it up any. [He scowls, perhaps at the camera and all those looking back at him, or perhaps just at the idea that he's being forced to communicate with people en masse to get around. There's a whine coming from off-screen, at which point the young man looks down.]

Ah hell... I didn't mean you, girl. I don't have any problems with you or anything. [Realizing the feed is still going as he's apologizing to his Pokemon, Shinji scowls once more and looks back at the screen, soon replacing that scowl with an outright glare.] Look, I'm gonna make this quick and easy for you all, alright? I'm looking for supplies. This lunch that bitch pretending to be my mom ain't going to be cutting it, so I want to know where I can get some real grub. Anybody know? Even basic stuff's fine, I can manage with that. [He pauses for a moment, looking down. He sighs, shakes his head, and looks back at the screen.]

Okay, scratch that, we can manage with that, that is. So, like I was saying, where's the nearest grocery store?

Third Person Sample:
It had been years since Shinji's last staring contest. At least, his last "serious" one. He and Aki had been in the orphanage, arguing about some stupid thing or another, and since they couldn't very well get into another fist fight right there in a room full of other kids and adults, they'd settled it the best way they could. Hadn't done them any damn good, though, when as soon as one of them - Shinji couldn't remember who - had realized they were on the brink of losing, they threw a punch and that had been that.

... 'Course, that wasn't to say he'd never had to stare at anything since then. But most of the time, a few seconds from him, and whatever poor bastard that was on the other end of his gaze was already running. He was used to shit like that by now, what with all the time he'd used to spend in back alleys and just generally alone during those two years...

This time was different though. There wasn't any poor bastard looking him in the eye, trying to see if they could get a rise out of him, and it wasn't a Shadow or some other crazy monster wanting to kill him either. At least, he didn't think it was. He was sure as hell he'd never seen any Shadow that looked like this thing, whatever it was.

"Arf!"

... And he was positive Shadows didn't bark.

Sighing, Shinji glanced away and decided that, just this once, he'd give in and forfeit to the little creature looking up at him. Whatever ut was, it looked like a dog and, as far as Shinji could tell, it was a dog... except for the fact that it had bone things all over it - including a damn skull on its head. He'd tried to pull it off when the thing had come out of that damn ball he'd been given, but the poor little guy started whining as soon as he started tugging - like it was attached. Despite that, now that the staring match was over, it was looking up at him and wagging its tail expectantly, just like any other happy dog would.

Remembering the device he'd been given earlier, he flipped it open and decided to see if it had any information on the dog - it had to be worth a shot, and it was sure as hell better than standing around staring at it like a dumbass. ... Not that he... completely minded or anything, but shit, a lot of the people around the town had already left while he'd been standing around. Apparently this thing's species, "Houndour", was a Dark and Fire type ("So it uses Mudo and Agi shit, huh?"), and was known for being a dangerous hunter.

"Damn, look at you. You're totally out of character," chuckling quietly, a small smirk on his face, Shinji shotia glance to the side to make sure no one was looking at him and slowly bent down to give the little guy a pat on the head, which the Houndour happily leaned up in to. Shinji shook his head at that, but the smirk was still there despite himself. "Seriously. You're supposed to be fearsome or some shit like that, right? You're like... A pup, aren't you?"

"Arf! Arf arf!" Its tongue hanging out, the Houndour licked at Shinji's hand, an act which made Shinji nearly back off - at the very least, he made sure no one was looking at him. Not that it really mattered, he had no idea where the fuck he was, did he have to care if some dick or two saw him getting to know his new... dog?

Now that was something he could grin at. His dog.

"Guess that means you need a name, right? ... You even want one?" Shinji gave the animal a curious look. Maybe it would be okay with being called "Houndour", but that would be like calling a dog labrador or doberman. Shit like that just didn't sit right with him. Luckily for Shinji, the Houndour began wagging its tail happily once Shinji finished his questioned, barking in what the young man took to be an affirmative response. "Got any ideas?"

To that, Shinji only recieved a pause and then the drooping of its ears and a whine. He chuckled quietly again, reaching down to lift it up from under its arms.

"Tch... Don't sweat it. I've got you covered," he told the Houndour, smiling despite himself when the ears perked back up. At least, he told himself, there wasn't anybody around to see this, or heads would roll. Specifically the heads of anyone who saw him letting his guard down like this. "And I think I've got an idea. How does Koroma..."

Shinji trailed off, leaving the Houndour to tilt its head. The machine had said something else, aside from Dark and Fire - which had inspired this name to begin with - something that was also making him doubt the choice as well. It wasn't exactly a fitting name for a creature of this... particular situation, after all.

If nothing else, Shinji could at least improvise.

"... How about Koro, girl? Like the sound of that?" At the sound of her bark and at the sight of her wagging tail, Shinji nodded to himself and chuckled a little. "Okay then. Koro it is."

"Arf!"

With that, Shinji turned to set her down and stuff his hands back in his pockets; to start off walking, and on this "journey" that he was supposedly about to embark on. Problem was, new little companion aside, he had a ton of crap to sort through, including the fact that it should be a full moon in a few more hours, on October Fourth no less, and he, stupidly, wanted to see her one more time before anything went down, and--

And there'd been some ditz staring at him and Koro for a good few minutes now. Fuck.

"So... What the hell are you looking at?" Shinji spoke menacingly, giving the girl a more typical stare (for him) and a facial expression to match. To his surprise, Koro began to growl as well.

"N-Nothing, ahahaha! Bye now!" With that, the girl ran off, dragging some... plant thing with her. Shinji turned to Koro, and at the same time, Koro turned to him, and they shared a quick smile, before it was gone and Shinji had taken on a more gruff look. If this thing was supposed to be some scary ass hunter, like hell he wasn't going to help it get there. That kind of thing was just in his nature.

"That was pretty good. You've got some potential, girl. But there's still a long way to go. Now come on, let's get moving."
