boyfriend;; (eunhyuk/gyuri)
"Taiwan isn't that far away from home." his voice is small, hopeful. Gyuri takes her time to reply back, a deep sigh escaping in the silence.
"Yeah, you're right. So I guess I'll see you when you come back then, Eunhyuk-sshi."
Pause. Eunhyuk-sshi? Since when were they formal? He tries to fake a smile, forgets they are miles apart, it's merely a chat on the phone.
"I'll call you."
"Oh, it's fine. I know you are going to be busy. We'll talk later."
"Okay then-" Eunhyuk mutters, his heart breaking in puny little pieces of cowardness. "But Gyuri I just have to tell you that I'm not going anywhere, not really - distance is only temporary, it's not a permanent thing you know, I have still have feelings for you, and I don't want this to change any...hello...hello? Gyuri? Gyuri you there?"
Gyuri hangs up after Eunhyuk says okay, runs far away from her phone and heart.
boy random;; (se7en/gyuri)
Gyuri didn't get crushes on people. She was Gyu-freaking-ri. People got crushes on her. But when she saw that man in those fruit-tacular swimshorts from three beaches away, abs and pearly whites alike both gleaming, her heart did a little leap.
"I could get you that coconut if you want."
"What?" Gyuri looked to her left. He hovered, impudent black sunglasses beaming down.
"That coconut up there. You've been staring at it for awhile."
Gyuri wrinkled her nose. She had been staring up at the palm tree to feign nonchalance when she saw him coming near and she knew that, but now that he knew that it wasn't that much fun.
"I'm Dong-wook by the way. How old are you, 20? 21? You can refer to me as oppa."
Gyuri was taken a little back at the stranger, even more so when he took a seat at the end of her beach chair, flexed his arms back, waiting for her to take the bait. It took her a couple more seconds than usual to catch up, but she did - she flipped her hair back, pulled out shades of her own and clicked her nails back.
"I'm 22. And actually I would like that coconut, please. Oppa. You need a ladder?"
Stranger boy never stood a chance.
best friend forever;; (gyuri/eunjung)
It's three in the morning when the ringer buzzes and a soaked Eunjung is at the door step, hands with a box full of creamy cupcakes in saturated fat.
"It's raining outside."
"No shit."
Eunjung extends her arms, practically drops the box into Gyuri's. "I brought cupcakes."
"No shit."
Gyuri places the cupcakes on a table, throws a measly night light on, and grabs a towel for Eunjung. Eunjung gives her a pouty face, the eyebags under her eyes rivaling Gyuri's own, the wear on her frame visible even in the middle of night. Sighs are exchanged before Gyuri wraps herself around her best friend, nuzzling into her wet and comforting hold, the familiar presence a breath of relief: this is their time. It's all the time they have. Eunjung groans when they pull apart after centuries.
"I hate being an idol."
"No shit."
crush;; (jungmin/gyuri)
"It's huge."
Gyuri almost marvels, almost, at the unnecessary grandioseness of the bed, and more or less at Jungmin on top of it, his right eyebrow cocked at unusually high degree.
"The bed or me?"
"Shut up." she says coolly, a slight tinge of pink heating up her prideful cheeks.
Her breasts stop bouncing when the bed comes to a halt, as Jungmin climbs off and to her side, mouth wide, legs lifeless. She looks over, over at his beautiful build, over at his calming aura, over at his flushed yet relaxed state; tries to figure out what he's thinking.
She wants to open her mouth and say that she loves spending time with him, she loves the way he makes her feel at ease, that she dreads the moments they are apart, that she hates the time he spends without her. She wants to tell him that he means something to her, something more than the meaningless easy lies she makes them out to be. The words never come out - instead she flips over, bites her bottom lip with a tease.
"You want to go for a second round?"
bandmate;; (gyuri/hara)
It's the end of the world. Hara holds on to Gyuri's hand tightly as they watch walls crumble. Hara's hand slacks; it's sweaty. When the land in front of them disintegrates and falls into the water far below, they gasp a little and take many steps back, fighting the inevitable. Gyuri looks around, closes her eyes and opens her ears to the pitfall of desperate screams and lost hope in the distance. She can hear the fire roaring behind them, closer and closer and even Hara's worried squeezes can't get the ringing sounds out of her chest.
"Unnie, I'm scared. I'm really scared."
"Just close your eyes honey and wrap your arms around me."
Gyuri opens her eyes, nods her head for Hara to come forward. Hara does as she's told, her thin arms suffocating Gyuri's stomach for comfort, her eyes clipped so hard, Gyuri knows she's seeing stars.
"I'm not going to leave you."
"Promise?"
Gyuri hears the fire sliding near their backs now, so close hair singes. She grabs Hara with all her might, kissing her forehead.
"I'm going to hold on to you until the last second, Hara."
And so she does.
