[It has been a difficult week, and Brook is finding it difficult to sleep. As he is wont to do when this happens, Brook is looking for distractions. Around four in the morning he leaves the house for a long walk, so if for some reason you happen to be out near the edges of the forest, you might run into a skeleton. He'll probably be out there well ( Read more... )

[Zoro is doing early-morning weight-lifting in the backyard when Brook comes home, ignoring the bandages covering wounds from the fight with Hazama wrapped around his head and various limbs.

He's only hefting a few measly tons, but he still looks briefly arrested when he spies movement out of the corner of his eye. Then he relaxes minisculely when he sees it's their skeleton rather than their reindeer doctor (FROM HELL), and keeps lifting.]

...Oi.

...No, think I'd remember that. Hnn.

Objects, huh. Weird. [He catches that abortive twitch, but won't comment on it. Zoro has a veeery broad definition of what constitutes 'prying'.] ...Not just stuff showing up in the items shop?

[Zoro's brow furrows a bit. You wouldn't have called it 'trouble' if they were trivial, but-ah. Objects you haven't seen in years. And you spent the last fifty years before Thriller Bark adrift with the bones of your nakama, so-earlier.] Mm.

...Is it a bad thing?

Not at all, really. I just... don't know what to do with it. [And it reminds him of days he's been trying not to think about right now.]

Do you have to 'do something with it?' They're important keepsakes, right? So...keep them.

[He doesn't know the particular reason Brook would rather not think about those times right now, or anything that's going on inside that skull, but. His answer likely wouldn't change, regardless. Don't dwell. Just-keep. Memories, objects. It's the same.]

[He raises his head, then laughs quietly - there's relief there.]

That is such a surprisingly simple solution. I suppose that's all I can do, neh? Thank you.

[Zoro glances at you, then shrugs. It's a matter of common sense, in his opinion.] ...Mm. No problem.

[Brook picks himself up, dusting off his pant legs.] I think that I shall take that nap now. I'll leave you to your training, Zoro-san!
