O1. Comfort
His eyes are frozen, permanently fixated, and large with fear and dread and every emotion that could send his heart into a pulsating mess, bu the words of "we're always watching" ("we're in control; death can be sentenced at any moment") brought him no reassurance.
O2. Kiss
The first (of many powerful, demanding, smooth, sinful and hungry) was unexpected and sudden, though no less filled with a pristine grace befitting of him; that brief encounter was enough to send Arthur's face aflame with every recollection.
O3. Soft
One London's cold winter evenings, Sebastian had visited with company of his own - a lady dressed in satin black, luscious and down to touch.
O4. Pain
It hurts, as if his uncovered fingers are searing his skin, before Arthur is gradually urged to accustom to it.
O5. Potatoes
When he was there, curiously wandering and overwhelmed by the extravagance fir for the Queen herself, he had passed the kitchen as dinner was prepared; that had been the plainest Arthur had ever seen the butler.
O6. Rain
He hears the rain cascading outside and keeps the blinds open as inspiration pours with it, but it's harder now to see the black figure outside.
O7. Chocolate
"Say "ahhh," Mr. Wordsmith," Sebastian murmurs, smooth and lush as the truffle he pushes past his lips when he compels with a flush, and it's absolutely deletable.
O8. Happiness
Arthur knew it was impossible to believe (even he had trouble) that once could find the barest of contentment with a demon; be commonly forgot that Sebastian was just that.
O9. Telephone
It'll be years before Arthur has the resources to posses a telephone (which had only been accessible to the wealthy prior), and he never thought it could be used in such a way until Sebastian calls him - the first one to - late at night, speaking of unspeakable actions as if he were right behind him.
1O. Ears
For a doctor, he hadn't known just how sensitive to the slightest of touches the ear was - not until Sebastian is breathing against its exposure.
11. Name
He became the first in centuries to utter his nonhuman from his purely human lips, and Sebastian learns that he had forgotten how it makes his non-heart feel to be loved.
12. Sensual
The third time Sebastian came on his own accord, Arthur was still anything but used to the way his legs are pulled and stretched above his head, the black nails which dug into his skin as Sebastian demonstrated just what he had meant by sensational.
13. Death
It takes one time for the teasing, carnivorous incisors - fangs - to be over impassioned by the fluttering, weak, shuddering breaths he struggles with, chest heaving and desperate (that's Sebastian's careful influence), and that's all it takes.
14. Sex
Sex frightens Arthur the most, not because he feels threatened, awkward and shameless, but from the security that Sebastian, wicked and persisting, presents and when he's given the mind to remember just what he was dealing with.
15. Touch
Whether it was through glove or skin, the grazes are hypersensitive to the common man, and he mentally swears they were not accidental (he is one hell of a butler, thus there was no mistakes to be made).
16. Weakness
Sebastian discovers it, one day, on a whim of his, that Arthur was susceptible to a quivering lip and softer, forged expressions.
17. Tears
He once entertained the thought of a double-standard and applying such a human quality to his inhuman self; the conflicted tears that Arthur shed of too much and not enough for him to take brought him sadistic amusement, but a foul simmer inside of him when someone else was responsible for the sin.
18. Speed
There was a mixture of amazement and excitement when his brown eyes catch the fleeting glimpse of a shadow, as if the demon had manifested as a ghost, knowing he was the only one to see the glimmer of a modern phenomenon.
19. Wind
A purposeful breath flared across the soft slop of his shoulder, a formal awareness that made Arthur leap from his newly adorned nightshirt, and arms accompanied his waist as another ensured; "Good evening, Arthur."
2O. Freedom
The matter always boggled him as to why Ciel allowed him so much freedom, knowing what he did, and whenever he consulted the butler, the answer always was, "We're quite interested in your affairs, Mr. Wordsmith."
21. Life
A demon valuing the life of any creature was unheard of - toys and nourishment they were - he wondered if that were still true to a demon in love, if he was.
22. Jealousy
Sinful he is and sin if what he decides to act upon when he seeks to solidify a moan only he should hear and trembling beg pressed to his chest.
23. Hands
They tilted and guided his head in directions and places he's too shy to face; Sebastian saw it as he duty to aid previous guests of his young master.
24. Taste
Flesh, that had just been elsewhere, lick at the bare, dirtied pad of a devil's thumb, and he teases in the smooth, thick molasses of his voice as the man underneath him pants in his own euphoria, "Thank you for the meal."
25. Devotion
Before Arthur could recognize his own intent as he stayed in his study late into the night, the portion of him already dedicated to capturing onto words the fiction and facts of life had begun to incorporate a being which belonged to fiction.
26. Forever
Forever was an unimaginable term to the author, grown and aware of the limitations of living, even now it still felt so surreal, but the thought had him smiling softly to himself.
27. Blood
They're covered in it when the shadow, clawing and demanding, came into bed one evening as a primal hunger had become unbearable - the tainted runoff dripped onto that poor human's chest - another still left to be sedated.
28. Sickness
He nurses him and checks regularly when given the time of day, chuckling secretly as he replaces a damp washcloth - a doctor sick is a useless one, indeed.
29. Melody
Swallowing and trembling, he silences himself with the teeth that dig into his lip, silently competing against the hands which drip and dance across his body to play forth sounds Arthur's embarrassed to hear himself make.
3O. Star
Sebastian wears one on the back of his hand, the same one pulling and stroking him smoothly, and Arthur posses a vague sense that it was there because of the earl who tamed a demon.
31. Home
Arthur was brought to Scotland with earl and butler in tow, a regal shadow behind him that sponsored the travel ("Because the young master is so fond of your work, it would be such a misfortune if your inspiration was lost now").
32. Confusion
He's left, perplexed, and only capable of lamely staring at that black, black back, himself unable to move from the sheer wall of ancient books - and he wondered why a demon would show self-restraint.
33. Fear
Stricken, human eyes widen (shock then fear, followed with a healthy shade of embarrassment) when Sebastian presents him the article, frilly and much too small for him to be able to fit.
34. Lightning/Thunder
Arthur heard and felt him chuckle into his temporalis before muttering calmly, speaking over a storm that illuminated them both, "I'm quite fond when you behave so cutely and leap into my arms, Mr. Doyle."
35. Bonds
At the core of his writer hear, Arthur had been prone to romanticize, even of the contorted and sinful.
36. Market
He accompanies Sebastian on his errands whenever chance seemed to have it (and it always does, as if a greater force was at work), a plain backdrop to a superior beauty; but, as if on que, his attention is taken as he's urged to walk alongside him.
37. Technology
The things which cannot be discovered at a glance mystified the author, as radio-waves traveled miles in a instant, and the magic Sebastian occasionally showed him had his mouth ajar even wider.
38. Gift
Mid-February, Arthur found an unsigned lace card on his nightstand confessing of impossible feelings within a poem, and he had an educated guess to the sender as he blushed thoroughly.
39. Smile
He knew it was rare to see the eternally smirking - eternally cruel - butler smile sincerely; he was swept in what could only be proclaimed as lover at the sight of it.
4O. Innocence
"Mr. Wordsmith; am I wronged to think that we have far surpassed these moments of shyness?" he asks, faking a sore to his heart teasingly as Arthur presses his face closer to the naked chest before him, trying to retain some shame.
41. Completion
Their consummation had been met at last, and perhaps it was Arthur's worst (or greatest) mistake when he came running back to them, breathless, and learned the truth of the matter.
42. Clouds
After Sebastian leaves - leaves him as soon as he was caught - the bedsheets are welcoming to his exhausted body, but he had never felt so cold and incorporeal before.
43. Sky
For two weeks the oppressive shadows that haunted and reminded him traveled to America, and he goes about his business of curing a little easier, none the wiser to the red eyes of a crow perched on a roof.
44. Heaven
Nothing could compare to a queerly abnormal sensation that Arthur becomes ensnared by, blinded as Sebastian shows tenderness and pleasure of all paces, he cannot see that this nirvana is not as pure all the way through.
45. Hell
He was finally able to catch a glimpse of it in the form of flaring irises and passion, nails becoming claws, and tongue to spade as all rake through his skin in yearning.
46. Sun
Favorable weather in London was difficult to come across, even more so when a opportunity was given to bask on Arthur's couch, eyes closed and breath slowed as sleep does, indeed, take him while lightly supported by Arthur; a cat only sleeps in places of which they feel comfortable and safe.
47. Moon
Mortal man marvels at the moon and it's glow at the depths of night; Arthur marvels at the gentle light that catches inside of Sebastian's eyes.
48. Waves
Arthur's toes constrict around the beads of sand, grasping only to slide deeper in to the beach as he delivers Sebastian a grateful and shy smile; "This is my first time experiencing the beach and all it's simple pleasures."
49. Hair
The fingers once wrapped about his chin (capturing it among others) are fond of burrowing deep into his roots, whether the moment be slow or rushed in a frenzy of teeth and flesh.
5O. Supernova
They watch the stars together when the murky night haze lifts, and there was a moment of disbelief when Sebastian tells him of the things he has encountered before Arthur realizes - oh, immortals can see all sorts of things beyond human imagine.
