why do people think getting married is considered an accomplishment? I dont consider it anything really. Just 2 people who love each other living together. you dont have to be married to be in a committed relationship. No one says anything if you've been dating for 5 years but if you're married then they make a big deal about it. I dont get it.

I suppose everyone has their own goals in life and for a lot of people being married is one of them.

It was never one of my goals in life, in fact...what you have written above is EXACTLY what I felt about it. I think my [now] Husband felt the same way for the most part.

We just decided that we wanted get married [and to be honest I never liked my last name :P j/k].

To be honest I think this is the relationship that I've worked hardest at and that means the most to me, I don't know if things would be different if we weren't married, I just know that for us it feels right to be married.

Everyone has the right to be considered committed and serious about their relationship whether they choose to be married or not and should be based on the right reasons, not just because you feel you have to be married.

I hope that makes sense, it did in my head.
