what are some fun fiction-y things I should read?

Carnival of Saints by George Hearman. It is out of print, but they have it at the downtonw library.

Pretty much anything by Terry Pratchett.

I'm also a big David Weber fan, and he'll be at CONvergence, so that's a choice.

Those are my top recommendations for the moment.

Anything by Chrisopher Moore. Start with "Lamb", and move onwards through his books from there.
