Updated progress on painting

I let this painting sit untouched for a long time, but I'm glad now that I did. I wasn't happy with my last painting (The Final Eve of Annaleise), and I really feel I can do better. I am going to work very hard on this one and really try to reach my full (current) potential. I started working on it again yesterday... as you can see it's a long ( Read more... )

it's tough... I'm still working some things out with it. It's really hard not having *actual* models for everything... some things, I just have to use my imagination so they don't come out quite right - like, I put a rope going from the figure in the foreground's hand, stretching to the girl behind her. I have no frame of reference so it's just not looking right. Bah, this painting is going to take me a long time. I think I will work on smaller things in the meantime.

thanks! I know, it's been a long time... I'm finally back into my regularly scheduled life... good god, I never want to have anything to do with a wedding again. It was so exhausting. If there ever is a next time (and of course I hope there isn't), I'll elope.
