Okay, so! Weekend, yay! The novel thing.. not going so well.  I wanted to post my little bit that I was talking about.. the snapshot that wouldn't leave me alone >[

I don't know where I want to take it, just wanted to write it.  Maybe a woman researching her own genealogical past, and the adventure it takes her on, and the building of her own future

I think that what you have is a good start! It's really descriptive, and almost poetic. You've got some really good images there.

I know it can be really hard to write a novel...since I'm trying to write my own right now and coming across the same frustrations you are (not being sure where to take my idea, etc). Just hang in there...hopefully we'll get our stories figured out.

I hope yours comes along. Mine was just something that poppped into my head while at work and I had to write it down.. it really had nothing to go with it. heh.
