History: Fairy Tail Wiki

Personality: Note: As her life in Cait Shelter has not been shown too much, some stuff will be headcanoned.

Starting off on a positive note, Wendy is very gentle. She is not too fond of fighting, and will usually be found on the sidelines supporting her allies with healing or support magic or by warning them of upcoming weather hazards. Regardless, if her allies need her assistance in fighting off enemies, Wendy will be there to help them. Even if her magic power is low, she will still do whatever she can. If she's out of magic, Wendy will still help, as she believes in the power of teammates. If an ally is badly injured and she has enough strength to help them, she'll do the best she can. She'll help both friend and foe, though for the latter it depends on the situation.

Wendy is very polite toward both friend and foe. She addresses everyone with honorifics, and will only drop said honorifics when she has gotten to know somebody well enough. Towards foes, she's more prone to get upset (especially if they provoke said emotion), but will nevertheless try to address them formally. On the flip side, Wendy is a bit on the shy side. She gets nervous when around other people and also gets flustered easily. However, she is not completely withdrawn from others she doesn't know, but she will keep some distance. And, if given enough time with new people, she'll become comfortable around them.

Wendy's other downside is her confidence. While she isn't completely out of self-esteem, she denies being "all that great". And while it is true that she isn't physically or magically as strong as some of her allies as well as one of the youngest members in Cait Shelter, she's got great potential. She just doesn't fully realize it yet. But ever since joining Cait Shelter, Wendy has gotten more confident. She still claims she isn't that great a fighter, but not as much as she did before.

Passions and motivations. Wendy is dedicated to her allies and cannot stand to see them suffer. She enjoys being a part of Cait Shelter, and takes on jobs she knows she can do. However, she will take on jobs she isn't too confident with if her fellow guild members believe she can do it or if willing to accompany her. If the job is too much, Wendy will still give it her best. If all else fails, she will give the job up not out of cowardice but because Wendy knows there are others who could complete it.

Strengths and weaknesses. Wendy's primary strength is being around her allies (then again, this is usually the case for those who are in a guild). Her healing and support magic is also something not to be taken lightly, nor is her weather predictions. As for weaknesses, Wendy's somewhat low confidence and timidness is usually what prevents her from getting more involved in battles and jobs. Her offensive magic is also rather weak and still developing, so it is nearly impossible for Wendy to fight by herself.

Finally, motives. Wendy's primary one is to find the dragon who taught her Sky Dragonslayer magic. Sky Magic in general is also known as Healing Magic. Her mentor Grandine, was also her caretaker. When Wendy was about five, Grandine disappeared. She has been shown to still be alive, but it is currently unknown where she is. It is also unknown if Wendy's birth parents are still alive, or if she even has birth parents (the topic has never been brought up).

A minor motive that more or less reflects on Wendy's past is to return a favor to a young man who accompanied her after Grandine disappeared. The two traveled together for quite some time, but eventually the young man decided that his situation was too dangerous for Wendy to be involved in (Wendy not knowing said situation whatsoever), and ended up dropping Wendy off at Cait Shelter, where she stayed for the rest of her time. While Wendy was upset that her friend had left her behind at the time, she managed to get over it and vowed to someday return the favor to him when they reunited.

Powers & Abilities: Wendy is the "Old Generation" Sky Dragon Slayer. As the name implies, Dragon Slayers are mages with magic meant for slaying dragons. However, Wendy's a special case--while she can use offensive magic like the other Dragon Slayers, she is much more proficient in healing and support magic. This includes healing ailments (such as poison or motion sickness) or boosting speed, magic power, etc. Wendy can also rely on air currents to predict the weather. To top it off, she regains her strength by eating air. That's right, eating air (don't ask how this works, it just does). Despite this, however, she still cannot use her magic limitlessly and will need to rest from time to time.

The last thing Wendy remembered was returning from a job with Charle and calling it a day. But instead of waking up in her room, she found herself lying on a soft patch of grass, surrounded by a plethora of flowers. Had she been sleepwalking? Wendy couldn't recall a time where such a thing had ever happened to her. She turned to her side, hoping Charle would be right beside her. Instead, there was a lake that seemed to be in a deep trench of some sort. Was this a dream?

After a moment of staring at the lake, Wendy slowly got up. She took a deep breath, and looked around at her surroundings. From what she could tell, there were trees surrounding the trench. There was also a bridge that stopped midway over the lake. But it didn't seem like the rest had broken off. Wendy turned around to see if anything was behind her. To her surprise, an entrance to a cave stood just a few feet away from where she was. What could be inside?

Wendy shook her head. There were more important things to deal with: Where was she, and where was Charle and the rest of the guild? They meant a lot to her, not to mention the idea of being alone was kind of discomforting. After all, Wendy wasn't too strong to begin with, so how long would she be able to last by herself? As she pondered over what to do, she thought she noticed an instance of pink light out of her peripheral vision. As soon as she turned, though, there was nothing around. How strange. It was probably her imagination. However, before Wendy could make any other sort of movement, she heard what sounded like a giggle. It seemed to come from behind her, so she turned to look in that direction. Again, nothing. Was someone messing with her, or was it a ghost? For some reason, her eyelids began to grow heavy, and she felt like she could use some more sleep. She gently laid herself back down, her eyelids closing over her eyes...

First-Person Sample:

[It takes Wendy a few moments to react to her current situation. One can hear play fighting in the background, and if listened to carefully, "Vee" and "Uu" sounds can be heard. When Wendy finally responds, her voice is quiet. The only way to hear her clearly is to practically push the device up against the ear.]

U-um... Does anyone here know anything about these two behind me? [She moves away to reveal two small fox-like Pokemon, one brown and tan in color; the other black and red.] I've never seen anything like them before. They've seemed to have taken a liking to me, and I think they're attacking each other with magic of some sort, but none I've ever seen or heard of.

[Her voice begins to waver a bit.] I-I miss Charle. Not the little one behind me [She looks over at the brown fox.] but my friend. She's a white cat who can fly and talk, so if anyone sees her, can you please let me know? [She bows.] I...I would really appreciate it.
