Yes. It's ridiculous as a general matter.

What if you own a small business? 250k might seem like upper-middle class for an individual, but it's still very small for a business, which are taxed the same. Small businesses are the ones who are being hurt most by this, their money is being extorted by the government to pay for "stimulus", which apparently means "pork".

I know the tea-party movement seems redneck, but realize that this is more than just an attack on President Obama's fiscal policy. There is a desire by a lot of Americans to take their country back from the partisan politics that have claimed it, and return the role of government back to that defined in the constitution.

It's a shame that a lot of tea party goers (teabaggers if you prefer ^_~) have chosen to make this about Obama. It's a shame a lot of Democrats perceive this as a Republican effort. In my mind, it's really about taking power back from both parties who have strayed so far from the original plan laid out by the nation's founders.

I don't agree with the stimulus packages, but it's not all Obama's fault. He's only been in office 3 months and a lot of this is fallout from Bush's administration.

Down here, it was pretty much all rednecks, so I made a generalization, which I normally criticize people for, so it probably wasn't fair. But I'm surrounded by rednecks usually, so I'm a little bitter. Partisan politics are a part of American politics and I don't see that changing anytime soon. We're a two-party system where other parties have no chance of any real participation.

If what's in your mind was in more people's minds, this "revolution" would be far more productive. Unfortunately, it's mostly sheep flocking to a crowd =/.

I attended the tea party in Indianapolis and I must say that your broad generalization is inaccurate at least in terms of my experience. First of all, I would not consider myself a 'redneck' or a bigot. I look down on no one based on their ethnicity or backgrounds. I love people and I want everyone to have the opportunity to bring their hopes and dreams to fruition ( ... )

But setting that aside, we already know the Bush tax cuts are set to expire which will increase taxation on all levels of income and other taxes such as tobacco have already been increased. The top marginal rate is set to go up to I've heard as high as 45%. My main concern is that all this is coming from a man who said he would go through line by line and eliminate wasteful spending and he would implement a 'pay as you go' policy which has been neglected thus far. So what's stopping him from even further doubling down on these policies when obviously his voters and the media aren't going to hold him accountable like they do when a Republican is in office ( ... )
