"There is a deep respect for the wisdom of Nature, a love of beauty, and an appreciation of bardic and mantic creativity. sounds like some interesting ideas there..

"preferring instead techniques designed towards transmuting "negative" energy into a pure and more useful form to be reclaimed and stored"

I resonate with that. transmuting those negative parts is always a struggle for me.

I guess power is always within.. its merely illusion that power exists outside of onesself. We are all knowing and all powerfull, we have just hoodwinked outselves into believing that we suck or somthing.. but once you know that.. no one can take it from you..

from where are you procuring this infomation miss sky? Im interested

I think appreciation of beauty and awareness of energy are important things.

this is the exact quote that made me sit up and take note... resonates very deeply with me also.

one of my lj friends posted about a wiccan offshoot they are studying called "feri". i had never heard of feri before (i've looked into LOTS of alternative beliefs!) and so had to look up feri on my trusty wikipedia... and thus came across this pargraph that was part of the explanation. not really interested in feri on the whole, although some aspects are interesting, including the whole transmuting negative energy bit!

not power-over, power-from-within. The excess energy ("mana") raised is sent to the Godself and thus out to the universe at large.

perhaps so, in your perception, but I can only go into it to a certain extent here. I don't want to monopolize the journal. If you are not aware of the difference between power-from-within and power-over, I suggest Starhawk's "Spiral Dance" as a starter. There are certainly similarities between metaphysical teachings but this does not by any means make them generic.
