I guess rumors about Gosselin doing Playboy circukated, with Hugh Heffner saying he wouldn't ask her as "she's not a celebrity". Now a couple things should be kept in mind. 1) Celebrity means "famous", and thus, no matter how much a black mark it means to us as a society that Kate Gosselin is famous, yes she is. 2) Reality show people have appeared ( Read more... )

I agree, although I'm not sure everyone does. When that Girls Gone Wild dude (Joe Francis?) got a thread on SF and it got dicey, the mods banned the thread on the grounds that he wasn't a celebrity, which I thought was ridiculous for the reason you just put forth.

The Snarkfest Forums are based on the Fametracker forums, which had a very strict definition of "celebrity" (For instance, athletes and studio executives were not allowed)

I think the forum gets too little posts these days to worry about whether someone deserves a thread or not, but I do notice the General Fame forum probably loopholes the hell out this criteria.
