So I was trying to install Linux (particularly Kubuntu) on the computer that's just been sitting doing nothing for months for lack of an OS. It all appeared to be going well until the part where I was supposed to remove the system disk and reboot. I did that, and then it came up with "Error 17" and won't do anything else, even if I try putting ( Read more... )

I asked the hubby. He says that means the boot loader can't find some drive partition.

Thanks for all that. I was too frustrated and PMSing too much to go look it up, not to mention that I needed a break from it anyway. Hopefully those links will help me figure out how to fix it!
