I realize "well, that was certainly a learning experience" isn't the best thing to take out of a bad situation, but often it's all you get, and better than nothing. Even if it is kind of the emotional equivalent of going into a burning building to rescue an unmatched sock. I do earnestly believe the world would be a better place if more people actually took the time to work on their own personal shit, so I for one will happily rally with you under the flag of "we're completely fucked up, but at least we're trying". Hope it gets easier.
Unrelated: I've had "Both Sides Now" stuck in my head for weeks because I couldn't figure out what it was based on a worldless snipped of melody. THANK YOU FOR SOLVING THAT MYSTERY, seriously, it was driving me mad.
*hugs* thank you so much for your patience with me, and for helping me learn self-mercy and self-discernment rather than self-harsh and self-judging.
Every single last one of my many friends is SO AMAZING. Especially you. And if my amazing friends, and my amazing Arthurbird, and my amazing horses, see something in me worth believing in - maybe I should look harder so that I can see it, and believe in me too.
It's funny that you should say that. In this part of Texas, we have two seasons. 11 months of summer, and February (winter). The winter part of February usually lasts 2 - 3 days, never more than 2 weeks.
We have always gotten ice and snow for at least 2 - 3 days, at this point in February. Every year for the last 40 years that I've been here.
And the people complaining that they want the snow and ice to go away, and they can't wait for summer - are the self-same people that complain about the three-digit degree temperatures in the summer, who can't wait for winter.

I can't actually seem to get rid of the voices in my head, but I am learning that I don't have to pay attention to the things they say.
